Project Planner

ERG Group is a major international engineering and construction business, which has been in operation since 1969. The group develops and operates complex infrastructure assets in the power and transportation sectors.

The company is looking for an experienced project planner to support its European subsidiaries. The role of the Project Planner will be to manage and co-ordinate the detailed works programme for large infrastructure construction projects including road, rail, and renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting to Project Director to develop detailed works program for construction projects
  2. Ownership and maintenance of best practice project planning software and programs
  3. Communicate updates of project schedule to the project delivery team
  4. Understands construction philosophy and identifies potential construction risks
  5. Develop construction schedules and work sequencing for construction projects based on design team input
  6. Prepare a project work breakdown structure and schedule to provide effective project performance measurement and reporting.
  7. Planning of multiple projects through the project lifecycle
  8. Track progress, incorporate changes and forecast delivery dates and expenditure
  9. Report actual performance and variance against plan and forecast outcomes
  10. Highlight key milestone, potential delay damages and critical path issues and provide an assessment of the risks and impact and recommend solutions to correct the position.
  11. Develop recovery schedules and contingency plans to meet changed objectives, as necessary.
  12. Assist in the preparation of periodic reports, statistics, and answers to enquiries concerning the programmes
  13. Ensure high standards of programming are carried out to meet client and contract requirements
  14. Provide support for civil engineering queries

Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Degree educated
  • APM / CIOB Qualification obtained or being pursued
  • 5+ years of practical experience working on infrastructure projects
  • Proven working knowledge and experience with project planning tools, specifically MS Project / Primavera
  • Extensive experience in planning of large CAPEX projects in multi-discipline teams
  • Experience in varied sectors is preferred
  • Pre- and post-contract experience preferred
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Proactive self-starter
  • Foreign languages are a plus
